Strange Folk' evolved in Hertfordshire during 2002, and are currently based in Herts & Somerset. But there’s nothing
strange about this band of three guys and one girl, or their music
- a vibrant fusion of retro rock, folk and neo-gothic elements.
The band’s roots are in folk, and distinct rock aspirations are tempered by a recognisable folk vein running through their songs to varying degrees. Dark impressive vocals ride the crest of a truly great sound that transports the listener to another time - a time when long hair, beads and flares roamed the lands; while elements of gothic/ acid/ grunge/indie rock folk generate a cauldron of flavours to excite.

Strange Folk is comprised of Annalise-Singer/Songwriter, David-Guitarist/Songwriter, Ian Bass/Backing Vocals/Songwriter & Steve-Drums/Songwriter, and their music is inspired by such influences as:

Blind Melon, Bob Dylan, Fairport Convention, Fleetwood Mac, Jefferson Airplane, Jethro Tull, Jimi Hendrix, Judas Priest, Saxon, Slayer, System of a Down, Skunk Anansie, Rolling Stones, T-Rex, The Doors,
King Crimson and many more ...
